Background
A native of Los Angeles, Mr. Robertson earned his bachelor’s degree in 1967 from U.C.L.A. and his master’s from the same university the next year. His area of concentration was Early Modern Europe.
As this was the Sixties, he quickly found himself “invited” into active military service after completing graduate work. He joined the U.S. Air Force, from which he retired in 1990. Tours of duty included three years each in Italy and the United Kingdom plus four years with the Department of History at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He taught Modern U.S. History, World History and the World History Honors course.
Soon after retirement he was accepted as an adjunct instructor at UNO. The majority of his classes are conducted at Offutt Air Force Base. While this venue principally serves the varying and often unpredictable schedules of active duty military members (and their dependents), nearly every class includes a number of civilians.
Outside interests include gardening, reading (histories and mysteries), following college and professional baseball, and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren.
